There's a Turkey at the Mall!

We stopped by Lucchessi's Deli to pick up some sandwiches and when we came out, we saw a giant wild turkey pecking around the parked cars!

Maybe he's doing some holiday shopping! I sneaked up next to him for a couple of pictures!

Painted!!

With a break from the rain, the exterior and the interior of the house has been painted! The roof is done on both floors!    The builders still need to put in the floors on the outside (driveway, pavement area, patio) and inside (carpet, tile, wood).

Rain Rain Go Away

We finally had a bit of a break from the storms... hopefully it stays this way for a week so the stucco can dry cure and get painted.  I really want to know what color my house is going to be!!!!  Gray, beige, dukey yellow? (HOPE NOT!!!!!!!), brown? multi-color.  I'm hoping gray, but I it's looking beige to me...

Oh! we met a neighbor across the street last week.  He seems to know the other neighbors too, so it's a good start.  I bet they can't wait until our construction is done so they don't have to see the trucks and hear the noise anymore!

We got our final closing prep letter so hopefully we'll be all done by mid January!  I've been looking at who the utility companies are in the area.  I love my house already.

And We're Still Building

The second story roof looks like it's pretty much done.  I can't tell if they put gutter guards in or not, but hopefully they clean it.  That gray stuff is stucco!   1st layer over the chicken wire.  Can't quite see inside anymore as the doors are closed and the windows sealed. Pretty exciting!

 

Getting ready for some Walls!

It looks like the roof has been tarred and the construction team is preparing our external walls for stucco application. I wonder what color our house will be?

Almost there!

Wow!  I think we're current on all our posts now!  These pictures were taken the weekend of October 27 on a quick 10 minute visit to the Seller's office for our last payment to the option center (rear patio, front landscaping, driveway, bathroom mirrors) and then to the house for some progress pictures.  No one was working on our site that day, but they were working away on other frames!

It's really starting to look more like a house and current estimate has our house delivered to us before Christmas!

Windows

Oh my!! We are so excited to see windows! We were up just on Wednesday, October 3 on our way to pick and pay for floors, counters, etc., for a quick looksie. And now we have windows!  We can't quite see inside but it looks pretty awesome!

Then they were working on it for a bit, and our realtor Martha went by to take a quick snap shot on October 4...

It's Starting to Look Real!

This is from September 30.  As you can see, there's a LOT of progress!  We stood here for 10 minutes, just quietly looking at the building.

Here's a close up of the first floor.  You may be able to see that they have put the stairs in!  Woo hoo!

Frames!

The frames are up!  It's starting to look a lot more like a house, rather than a random piece of concrete!

We went by our lot (soon-to-be our HOUSE), Saturday, September 22, and this is what we found!  Remember, just one week ago, we saw the studs in the concrete and lots of lumber.

You can see the frame cut outs for the windows on each floor.  We'll get lots of natural sunlight!
